So, if you're still reading this pathetic blog, bless you.
Things are busy and tiring. When you add children to your family you can expect a certain craziness. Then things settle down and you establish some sort of relationship. Then they get comfortable, which is good, but that comes with a whole host of issues. They feel comfortable enough to let their issues hang out. So its like you start all over trying to get to know them and figure out how to deal with everything.
Luckily for us we have had these 2 girls for awhile. I can imagine it would be hard to have them pass through like a revolving door.
We are doing really good though. We go through times of stress and times of complete loss as to what to do.
Most of the time we just do this one day at a time. And I cannot believe we've been doing this one day at a time for over 7 months.
Liberty is doing great. She does have days where she struggles. She wants to act like a mom and be in charge. Its hard for her to know when to just let me handle things.
She will be in 4th grade. Its hard to even type that. My baby is growing up. She is taking a gymnastics class 2 nights a week. It is a very low key and no pressure gym. She has gained so much confidence and strength. She has made many friends at the church we've been attending for a year now. It is a good fit for us and we are slowly getting involved.
Darrell is climbing the ladder at the manufacturing plant he's been working at for 4 years. He is an electrical apprentice and hopes to become an industrial electrician soon.
He is an amazing man of God who loves his family and strives to provide for us no matter what. He is good about making sure we get date nights since we are such busy parents. He is also good about watching the girls so I can just get out of the house. He has been my (human) strength during the last 7 months.
I don't really know what to update about myself. I'm just busy being a mom. I get frustrated at times and feel lost. But the Lord guides me each day and I get through it.
Right now it looks like our girls will be with us at least a few more months. We love doing what we do and look forward to getting to know more children. We also.work with an amazing agency. If it werent for them I dont think we would still be doing this.
I think eventually I would like to start a foster care ministry. Maybe in a few years. Our hope is to do this long term but we never know what could happen. Sometimes I dont think I can do it another day, so who knows.
